Reddit is seeking a talented Creative Technologist to join KarmaLab, Reddit’s in-house creative strategy team. This person will sit at the core of the AI generation process for creatives at Reddit, ensuring that ad generation products output high quality assets for all formats and placements in the platform, while leveraging unique reddit resources like community intelligence, context and unique reddit communication strategies. KarmaLab helps brands show up with contextual relevance and platform-native creative craft. As advertisers increasingly adopt generative tools, KarmaLab plays a critical role in ensuring Reddit’s AI-generated assets are high-quality, brand-safe, and tailored to community context. Sitting on one of the richest repositories of conversations and creative signals on the internet, Reddit has long been at the forefront of exploring how AI can accelerate creative workflows. We believe the creative field has only begun to scratch the surface of how GenAI can transform ideation, production, and execution, and this hybrid role will be instrumental in building new processes and systems to elevate and automate creative output across Ads Manager. This person will partner closely with Product, Engineering, and our existing AI Strategy function to guide model outputs, improve asset quality, and streamline generative creative workflows for advertisers..

  • Build and maintain a robust library of gen AI prompts and creative patterns aligned with Reddit’s ad formats, community dynamics, and creative best practices.
  • Translate advertiser goals and campaign strategy into structured, machine-readable inputs that produce effective and contextually relevant assets.
  • Expand the coverage of reddit’s creative generators to all the relevant formats and placements in the platform, following the best practices for performance and adoption.
  • Define a versioned prompt/input taxonomy (objective, audience, tone, constraints, community signals) with tagging for format, vertical, and outcome.
  • Instrument coverage tracking to expose gaps by format, placement, and vertical; publish a prioritized backlog to close gaps.
  • Improve the quality, contextual relevance, and brand safety of large language and diffusion model outputs across text, images, video, contextual variations, and personalized variants.
  • Develop a repeatable framework for evaluating model outputs, iterating on prompts, and refining input data.
  • Establish a consistent, weekly cadence for model testing, structured feedback, and creative experimentation.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering to prioritize improvements, validate model updates, and accelerate feature development by 4–6 weeks per launch.
  • Identify opportunities to automate creative actions, such as generating asset variations, enhancing client-provided media, or informing creative recommendations.
  • Collaborate on integrating creative-audience insights signals into generative inputs.
  • 5+ years of experience in creative strategy, brand planning, agency work, or content development.
  • Hands-on experience working quickly and efficiently with generative AI workflows, prompt optimization, or AI-assisted media creation.
  • Portfolio that includes prompt → output workflows, grading rubrics, and “what changed/why” narratives; not just final assets.
  • Ability to translate creative briefs and advertiser objectives into structured prompts or input schemas. You speak the language of designers.
  • Experience optimizing LLM or diffusion outputs for quality, clarity, and contextual accuracy.
  • Experience with creative evaluation frameworks, qualitative scoring, or RAG pipelines.
  • Understanding of experimentation cycles, including variable testing and tagging qualitative signals.
  • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly learn, automated creative production systems or multi-agent orchestration.
  • Understanding of the methodology behind evaluation and automation: Python notebooks and/or simple scripts to run batch generations, score outputs, and export side by side comparisons.
  • Familiarity with social platforms, cultural trends, subcultures, and community-driven creative storytelling.
  • Comfortable collaborating with PMs, engineers, and cross-functional partners to evaluate and improve creative tools.
  • Ability to review and refine image or video assets for contextual relevance and brand quality.
  • Highly organized, systematic thinker with a strong editorial eye.
