About The Position

SENIOR COUNSELOR Help create an unforgettable summer by leading campers and supporting counselors in an active, outdoor, and community-driven environment. Requirements

Age: 21+
Experience working with children (required)
CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications.
Valid driver's license (eligible to drive camp vehicles after training)
Must be able to move actively throughout camp, supervise children outdoors, and maintain awareness in a dynamic environment.
Go West Camps is a drug-, alcohol-, and tobacco-free facility.
Employment at Go West Camps in contingent on clear State and Federal background checks and fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

Follows all Go West Camps guidelines and emergency procedures, American Camp Association standards, State Social Services standards and County Health Department standards.
Facilitates daily activities that are appropriate for the age level, skill level and development of participants.
Ensures proper use, organization, storage and care of materials and equipment.
Helps children and fellow staff in cleaning common areas and performing daily tasks.
Provides discipline to participants in accordance with Go West Camp policies and procedures.
Maintains an open, friendly, professional relationship with staff and participants.
Provides timely communication with Unit Leaders and Camp Leadership.
Attends and helps to lead training and in-services as assigned as is appropriate to their experience.
Completes required reports, attendance records, and other necessary clerical tasks in a timely manner.
Provide guidance for fellow counselors experiencing difficult situations with campers
