About The Position

This is more than a job — it’s a chance to serve as a trusted support system for individuals navigating complex challenges, including substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions. As our Senior Counselor , you'll carry a small, specialized caseload, providing individualized support through weekly counseling sessions, crisis intervention, and referrals to appropriate levels of care. You will also play a vital leadership role by facilitating support groups, mentoring staff, coordinating care with outside treatment providers, and ensuring compliance with OASAS and DOHMH standards. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for health coordination tasks such as HIV, Hepatitis, and STD education, COVID-19 risk reduction, and reporting through the Health Commerce System. We’re looking for a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) with at least 3 years of hands-on experience and a passion for serving a diverse community. A valid NY State driver’s license and QHP status (with verifiable number) are required. Requirements

  • Associates Degree in human services or equivalent
  • Must have CASAC
  • Must be qualified health professional ( QHP) with verifiable number
  • At least 3 years experience as CASAC
  • Must have valid New York State Drivers License
  • Ability to work with diverse population.
