About The Position

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is seeking a dynamic, business-minded attorney to lead KDP's global Privacy Program, ensuring adherence to evolving regulatory privacy frameworks, mitigating risk, and fostering a culture of privacy by design. This is a unique opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures that align with international privacy laws and industry best practices. This role will be joining a team passionate for supporting KDP's business, collaborating with others and building relationships with senior leaders and key business partners to tackle the ever-changing legal challenges we face as a global company. The position will be based in the company's corporate headquarters in Frisco, Texas.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and licensed, as a member in good standing, eligible to practice as an in-house corporate attorney.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience preferably with major law firm and in-house corporate experience, with deep understanding of global privacy laws, including GDPR, PIPEDA, CCPA/CPRA and other state laws, as well as emerging data protection regulations.
  • Experience implementing and developing compliance with global laws through cross functional collaboration.
  • CIPP/US and CIPP/E certifications through IAPP.
  • Pragmatic service-oriented lawyer with well-developed ability and passion for making complex topics understandable for various audiences.
  • Confidence and flexibility to operate in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • A team player who works collaboratively and builds and maintains strong relationships with internal clients and other team members across the legal department.
  • Self-starter who works well with minimal supervision but shows excellent judgment about when to look to managers and teammates for guidance and when to elevate matters appropriately.
  • Exceptional communication and project management skills.
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to leverage data to influence decisions, identify risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Familiarity with BigID privacy technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead KDP's global privacy program, ensuring alignment with the NIST framework and industry best practices, including maintaining policies, procedures, and controls, to safeguard personal information and maintain compliance with privacy laws.
  • Monitor and stay current with emerging privacy laws and regulations, assessing their impact on the business and privacy program to implement necessary changes to remain compliant.
  • Conduct privacy risk assessments, ROPAs, and TIAs; working with the business to identify risk mitigation activities needed to comply with privacy laws.
  • Collaborate with marketing and media teams to develop strategies that maximize the use of data while maintaining compliance with digital tracking, advertising and other privacy regulations and best practices.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity team to manage BigID, KDP's privacy technology tool.
  • Manage Privacy Program Manager.
  • Partner with legal colleagues and the business to provide legal counsel and negotiate data protection provisions in various contracts.
  • Effectively communicate to a broad range of stakeholders, internal and external, to champion KDP's continued privacy culture and demonstrate compliance with policies and procedures through metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Lead the development and delivery of comprehensive privacy training and awareness programs for employees at all levels.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement Privacy by Design into product development, marketing, and business strategies.
  • Partner with Incident Response team to manage investigations of potential incidents and privacy compliance violations; implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the CISO to align privacy and cybersecurity efforts, including communication, outreach and compliance requirements, to ensure a holistic approach to privacy and security.
  • Support cross functional efforts for responsible AI governance and compliance with emerging AI regulations globally.
