About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a US remote Senior Counsel – Managed Care to join our team! The Senior Counsel – Managed Care is part of Labcorp’s In-House Law Department. This position has a strong emphasis on drafting and reviewing regulatory payor/provider contracts and works closely with internal clients in Labcorp’s Payor Solutions department, Contract Administrators, other attorneys’ functional leaders across the Labcorp enterprise, and outside counsel. Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law school.
  • 2 or more years of experience as an in-house health care attorney with a clinical reference laboratory or ancillary provider, health plan or payor or health system.
  • 2 or more years of experience with payor/provider contracts review, drafting and negotiation.
  • 2 or more years of experience with federal and state laws and regulations with commercial and federal and state governmental health insurers and plans, including provider contracts, networks, claims, reimbursement and denials.
  • Admission to the state bar where practicing.
  • General knowledge of healthcare-related laws and regulations applicable to provider contracts and transactions involving ancillary providers, health plans or other payors, IPAs and healthcare systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable compliance laws, such as Stark, Anti-Kickback, HIPAA.
  • Strong attention to detail, with ability to summarize key issues clearly and succinctly for Labcorp management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Ability to quickly grasp new concepts, information, and nuances in connection with managed care law and related operational issues.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • The position is also eligible for an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan. Bonuses are payable based on corporate and/or business segment performance and are subject to individual performance modifiers. Compensation may also include discretionary short- and long-term incentive packages.
