SENIOR COUNSEL – LITIGATION AND GOVERNMENT INVESTIGATIONS The Senior Counsel, Litigation & Government Investigations, will be responsible for independently managing various litigation, government investigation, and other legal matters faced by the Company.

Requirements

  • JD degree or equivalent and membership in an appropriate bar.
  • At least 8 years of legal experience, some of which should include having worked in a corporate legal department or law firm.
  • Very strong oral & written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated record of collaboration, being a team player and forming strong working relationships with clients.
  • The highest integrity, excellent judgment and the ability to proactively recognize and effectively communicate issues appropriately.
  • Solid leadership qualities, intellectual curiosity and a sense of humor.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant experience with the pharmaceutical industry generally and understanding of current federal and state pharmaceutical litigation and enforcement environment, and relevant statutes and regulations (including FDCA, False Claims Act, and anti-kickback statutes), is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a variety of litigation matters, including, but not limited, to antitrust, commercial, consumer protection, product liability, and securities actions, as well as other potential disputes faced by the Company.
  • Managing domestic and international internal and government investigations.
  • Effectively managing outside counsel representing the Company to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Collaborating closely with other Law Department colleagues and functional support groups to provide legal advice and counsel.

Employees in remote-by-design or lab-based roles may be eligible for summer hours, depending on the nature of their work, and should discuss eligibility with their manager. Employees covered under a collective bargaining agreement should consult that document to determine if they are eligible. Contractors, leased workers and other service providers are not eligible to participate in the program.
