About The Position

Clyde & Co US LLP seeks a Senior Counsel attorney to join our growing insurance coverage litigation practice in Seattle. This practice provides strategic guidance to insurance companies on first-party and third-party coverage analysis and defends against alleged bad faith claims in Washington and other jurisdictions nationwide.

Requirements

  • Is admitted to practice in Washington State.
  • Has experience in insurance coverage and coverage litigation or a commercial litigation background with an interest in insurance coverage work.
  • Has excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Has strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Has the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
  • Has effective problem-solving skills.
  • Has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze rights and obligations under insurance policies, draft coverage opinions, and provide coverage advice to clients.
  • Conduct legal research, analyze findings, and draft memoranda.
  • Prepare and analyze pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage litigation.
  • Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
  • Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
  • Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients.
