About The Position
Invesco is seeking an experienced leveraged finance attorney to join its Americas Legal Team as part of the Investments and Private Markets team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support to Invesco's investment teams, particularly in the areas of broadly syndicated bank debt, stressed, distressed, and special situations credit, as well as private credit investments. The attorney will work closely with investment professionals to support leveraged loan and credit investments throughout their lifecycle, ensuring that all legal aspects are thoroughly addressed. The attorney will be responsible for reviewing and negotiating credit agreements, indentures, and other leveraged lending transaction documents, assisting investment professionals with due diligence and investment strategy. Additionally, the role includes advising investment committees, providing restructuring support for stressed and distressed investments, and counseling on U.S. bankruptcy law matters related to in-court borrower restructurings. Post-restructuring legal support will also be a key component, involving the review and negotiation of shareholders agreements and other private equity documents. Collaboration with external legal counsel, financial advisors, and investment bankers will be necessary, as well as staying current on industry trends and developments in credit investing. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel - Investments and Private Markets, and requires a high degree of personal and professional integrity, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and a strong collaborative working style.
