About The Position

Walmart is seeking a Senior Counsel/Director, Regulatory Change Management, to join the Enterprise & Regulatory Risk Management team. This position leads a team of associates responsible for changes in laws, regulations, executive orders, and other mandatory requirements that may impact Walmart's operations and compliance programs. This role will be a key leader on the Enterprise & Regulatory Risk Management team, engaging with the full team and stakeholders across Ethics & Compliance, other functional support areas, and the business to identify changing business priorities, risk profiles, and potential roadblocks to achieving our strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Law degree from an accredited law school.
  • 6 years' experience in law.
  • License to practice law in at least one state.
  • 2 years' experience leading cross-functional teams.

  • Experience building complex processes and integrating emerging technology and AI/ML into existing workflows.
  • Experience fostering cross-functional partnerships and managing working groups with large numbers of stakeholders.
  • Experience communicating with and presenting to senior executives and colleagues across various functional and business areas.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Regulatory Change Management (RCM) team and collaborate with stakeholders across Compliance, Legal, Public Policy, and Government Affairs teams.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the RCM program.
  • Continue active pilots of multiple AI and technology platforms, expanding adoption where tools align with program goals.
  • Contribute to the team's long-term strategy by evaluating new capabilities that enhance coverage, efficiency, and insight.
  • Provide oversight of the RCM team's work, including work related to fifty-state surveys and discrete legal research projects.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Enterprise & Regulatory Risk Management team and senior leaders to identify emerging regulatory risks and develop a holistic risk profile.
  • Drive forward risk-based discussions around strategy, mitigation plans, and strategic growth.
