About The Position

The Senior Counsel, Digital for GE Healthcare will be a key member of the legal and compliance leadership team for the GE Healthcare. This role is responsible for providing strategic legal support to GE HealthCare’s Science and Technology Organization, regarding business initiatives and complex transactions, including technology licensing, data and analytics, clinical & research partnerships, business development, software development, commercial engagements, and related matters. Job Description Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Act as business counsel supporting the GE Healthcare’s Science and Technology Organization, led by our CTO, to leverage AI & analytics to bring actionable insights across the healthcare system and care pathway, enabling better clinical and financial outcomes. Be an active business partner, applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships, and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention. Advise the business on commercial, regulatory, litigation, data governance, data strategy, privacy, improper payments, and advertising/promotional matters. Structure and negotiate strategic business transactions, including inbound and outbound technology licensing, software development, cloud deployment, professional services, and clinical and research partnerships. Design and conduct strong communication and training programs to drive employee awareness about key risks and legal and compliance initiatives in GE Healthcare Digital. Collaborate with regional legal colleagues and subject matter experts to advise the business on complex legal/compliance issues that arise out of GE Healthcare Digital’s global operations. ·Qualifications/Requirements: JD (or global equivalent) with active bar membership and excellent academic credentials. Seven (7) years of business law experience at a large law firm or corporate legal department. Experience in the healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry regulations. Two (2) years AI Technology or Digital health technology experience Preferred Qualifications: Experience handling IP-related issues arising in software and technology transactions. Experience in healthcare privacy matters, including deep knowledge of US privacy laws (especially HIPAA/HITECH), regulations, and best practices. A working knowledge of global privacy and data protection laws. Proven track record of project and process development, implementation, and project management, with minimal supervision required. Proven ability to function as a member of a global team in a complex, matrix environment. Demonstrated experience identifying and resolving legal and regulatory issues quickly and effectively, with an ability to make real-time decisions. Demonstrated experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast-paced environment. Requirements
