About The Position

Join Cherokee Federal as a Senior Costpoint Developer, where you will lead the design, development, enhancement, and long-term support of Deltek Costpoint solutions supporting internal finance, accounting, payroll, and project-based business operations. This role serves as a technical subject-matter expert, driving custom development, integrations, reporting, and performance optimization while ensuring system stability, security, and audit compliance. You will collaborate closely with Finance, Accounting, HR, and IT leadership to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with business needs.

Requirements

  • Must hold US Citizenship or Permanent Residency to be considered
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience developing and supporting Deltek Costpoint in an enterprise environment.
  • Advanced hands-on experience with Deltek Costpoint application development and configuration.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL, including complex queries, performance tuning, and data analysis.
  • Serve as a technical expert for IBM Cognos as the primary reporting platform for Deltek Costpoint.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize Cognos models and reports supporting Costpoint financial and project data.
  • Experience developing custom Costpoint screens, processes, reports, and interfaces.
  • Deep understanding of Costpoint financial modules and project-based accounting concepts.
  • Experience supporting Costpoint upgrades, patches, and version migrations.
  • Lead and support Deltek Costpoint and CPIM upgrades, including Costpoint 8.2, with impact analysis, testing, and validation.
  • Support Costpoint imports, integrations, and troubleshooting within cloud-hosted or SaaS Costpoint environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Costpoint upgrades (including CPIM), cloud-hosted Costpoint environments, and Cognos reporting.
  • Familiarity with source control, development standards, and release management practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing complex system and data issues.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in regulated environments with audit, compliance, and internal controls.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Deltek Costpoint applications supporting enterprise financial and project accounting operations.
  • Develop and maintain custom Costpoint components including screens, processes, reports, and integrations using supported Costpoint development frameworks.
  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert for Costpoint modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Projects, and Billing.
  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects supporting Costpoint reporting and data integrity.
  • Support and enhance integrations between Costpoint and upstream/downstream systems (e.g., HR, payroll, reporting, data warehouses).
  • Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex production issues related to Costpoint performance, data accuracy, and system behavior.
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, and business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical designs and scalable solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers and application support team members.
  • Support Costpoint upgrades, patches, and version changes, including impact analysis, remediation, and post-upgrade validation.
  • Ensure adherence to internal security standards, audit requirements, and compliance controls related to financial systems.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, development standards, and system design artifacts.
  • Participate in change management, release planning, and post-implementation verification activities.
  • Collaborate with Infrastructure and Database teams to ensure system availability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Follow established SDLC, ITIL, and governance processes for development, deployment, and support activities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
