Job Title: Senior Cost Analyst Reporting To: Management, Finance Business Services & Accounting Work Schedule: Hybrid – Buffalo, NY Moog has an exciting opportunity within their Military Aircraft Group for a Senior Cost Analyst in Government Cost Accounting & Compliance. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Government Cost Accounting & Compliance, this individual is responsible for a wide and impactful range of accountabilities. The individual will support the development and submission of Moog’s annual indirect rates as part of the Incurred Cost Proposal process; contribute to monthly and quarterly cost and rate variance analyses; assist with internal and government audit engagements; and help deliver internal training on key Government Compliance topics. Individual will support the Senior Manager in interfacing with managers and employees of direct reporting departments, Site/Group/Corporate finance, and other functional areas to work specific problems and/or projects. In addition, this individual will have periodic interactions with Government auditors. This position offers a 1st shift, hybrid schedule on-site at our East Aurora, NY Location.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting and/or Finance.
  • Minimum 3 years of progressive finance/accounting experience.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Effective influence and collaboration skills across business disciplines.
  • Adaptable to change and demonstrated ability to handle multiple and diverse tasks within the required deadlines.
  • SAP/Workday experience preferred.
  • A general understanding of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferred.
  • Manufacturing and / or Aerospace industry experience preferred.
  • This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred experience in Government Compliance within the Government contracting arena.
  • MBA/CPA Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Manager in implementing Moog’s Government Accounting and Compliance initiatives in alignment with Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) across the business.
  • Contribute to the preparation, review, and submission of Moog’s annual Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) for eight (8) reporting segments.
  • Assist with ERP and pricing system activities, including costing & billing rate loading and reviews, throughout the Forward Pricing Rate Proposal (FPRP) life cycle for eight (8) reporting sites.
  • Perform periodic internal reviews to ensure compliance with timecard approval requirements.
  • Support updates and reviews of CAS Disclosure Statements for Moog’s Corporate, Intermediate Home Office, and Segment organizations accounting practices.
  • Assist the Senior Manager in developing and delivering training materials and sessions on CAS, FAR, DFARS, unallowable cost requirements, and other compliance-related processes and procedures.
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with DCAA auditors through participation in ongoing audit activities.
  • Support the Government Accounting Internal Audit Lead with internal audit plans, initiatives, and corrective actions related to FAR, CAS, and internal policies and procedures as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Moog’s labor transfer process.
  • Collaborate/communicate effectively with business unit and corporate finance and accounting teams as needed.
