About The Position

The Senior Cost Analyst at Danfoss Ames will support cost control in the plant through the preparation of monthly reporting and analysis. This role is crucial for developing and implementing a framework to enhance transparency and reporting standards within the plant, reporting directly to the Plant Controller.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with an emphasis in Finance/Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience working in the field of Finance/Accounting.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advanced skills and experience with MS Office, particularly high proficiency with MS Excel.
  • Experience with reporting systems such as SAP, Business Intelligence, and HFM.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of people across the US and globally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures and appropriate internal controls.
  • Ability to interpret accounting theories to implement practical judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Apply accounting principles and techniques in all tasks performed, identifying deviations and non-compliance for management correction.
  • Coordinate the US month-end close process.
  • Support the monthly close process by completing assigned tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and analysis.
  • Review assigned departments to ensure expenses are reported timely and accurately.
  • Analyze price variances, scrap, material usage, and other variances, investigating root causes.
  • Support production team leaders in costing and profitability analysis needs.
  • Assist in the annual budget process and utilize SAP and Business Intelligence reports.
