About The Position

The Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for the cost accounting, inventory valuation and variance analysis of the 3 manufacturing locations. This role will also lead the change to standard costing methodology, support gross margin analysis and provide insight to drive profitability, working closely with Operations, Supply Chain and the Commercial team. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing industry; multi-site textiles strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of standard costing, BOM’s/routings, variance analysis and inventory accounting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Own annual/periodic cost roll-ups: BOMs, routing, labor standards, overhead rates and burden allocation across 3 companies.
  • Partner with Operations for time studies and rate updates; model impact of wage, material and overhead changes
  • Harmonize costing methodologies, item categorizations and cost centers across plants.
  • Assist in the monthly close process by analyzing PPV, labor efficiency, absorption and overhead spending.
  • Assist in the rolling forecasts and annual budget
  • Team with Operations to prepare KPI packs for Senior Management
  • Establish and maintain uniform cost accounting policies and overhead pools
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation and E&O reserves
  • Lead cycle counts and physical inventories; set count frequency, tolerances and root-cause corrective actions
  • Evaluate and implement inventory controls: BOM/routing changes, standard cost updates, inventory adjustments and approvals.
  • Own cost master data governance across ERPs to drive data integrity
  • Product/customer/plant margin analysis by item; including impacts of freight/duty
  • Model price changes and SKU rationalization changes
  • Be a key contributor in the implementation of new ERP systems
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
