About The Position

Senior Cost Accountant Position Summary: Full time salaried position Onsite based out of our Greendale, IN location The Senior Cost Accountant is to proactively participate in the Finance Department’s daily production review and analysis of all costs for the manufacturing site Catalent Wellness Greendale is a rapidly growing manufacturer of dietary supplements in a soft chew format. The Role: Responsible for analyzing, tracking, and reporting costs associated with production, operations, or service delivery. Plays a critical role in determining product cost accuracy, supporting pricing decisions, monitoring inventory valuation, and helping leadership understand cost drivers and profitability.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field of study, required.
Minimum five years required in accounting.
Advanced PC skills, including advanced spreadsheet functions (e.g. Pivot Tables, Lookups, Formulas), required.
Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Advanced proficiency with various ERP systems, Sage or JDE, preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop, maintain, and update standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
Analyze actual vs. standard cost variances and identify root causes.
Maintain accurate inventory valuation (raw materials, WIP, finished goods).
Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger.
Perform cycle count analysis and support full physical inventories.
Analyze production efficiency, labor utilization, machine hours, and overhead absorption.
Prepare cost-related journal entries (inventory adjustments, variance postings, overhead allocation).
Support development of production budgets and cost forecasts.
Other duties as assigned.
