About The Position

The Sr. Cost Accountant I is an integral part of our plant management team
within the Infrastructure Solutions business. Primary responsibility for all
Financial duties for the Precast Products division. These include but not
limited to month-end closing, compliance with established policies and
procedures both internal and external, variance analysis driving continual
improvement, full P&L and balance sheet responsibilities. This position reports
to the Infrastructure Segment Controller.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5 - 10 years’ experience in accounting required, with at least five years’ experience in the manufacturing industry required.
• Proficiency in SAP preferred or ERP systems
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including Excel
• Must be able to travel 25%
• Understanding of accounting, operational controls, and business operations
• Motivated individual who demonstrates initiative while completing tasks in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

• MBA or advanced certification (CPA) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support internal business partners, other departments, management, and external parties.
• Analyze trends in division wide costs and product line and business profitability.
• Prepare monthly closing journal entries and take ownership of investigating / resolving variances in a timely manner.
• Prepare detailed account analysis reports for specific balance sheet accounts.
• Monitor cost systems, BOM, and inventory movements for financial reporting across four plant locations.
• Manage and conduct physical inventory observations at company facilities and outside locations.
• Provide guidance to personnel regarding inventory and ERP system issues.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and Sarbanes Oxley.
• Drive and support continuous improvement by challenging the status quo, supporting. management initiatives and developing and documenting new processes.
• Assist with other financial and compliance activities as needed.
• Respond timely to both internal and external audit requests.
• Assist with ongoing implementation of business units into SAP.
• Help the Precast business reach their financial commitments while maintaining all GAAP & SOX controls.
• All other duties as assigned.
