Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, plus 7+ years of corrosion control experience, consistent with senior level industry roles.
  • AMPP CP1 Tester and AMPP CP2 Technician certifications required; AMPP CP3 Technologist certification preferred (industry aligned for senior roles).
  • Advanced understanding of corrosion mechanisms, cathodic protection systems, and indirect survey methods.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data, evaluate system performance, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with internal teams, field crews, clients, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with standard corrosion testing equipment and basic computer skills used for data entry, reporting, and documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple assignments, and maintain accuracy and consistency in field and office environments.
  • Capability to occasionally perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting, and field equipment handling (consistent with similar job postings).

Responsibilities

  • Design and evaluate impressed current and galvanic cathodic protection systems, including deep and conventional anode beds.
  • Analyze indirect survey data and cathodic protection test results (e.g., CIS, ACVG, DCVG, ACCA, coating conductance, current demand tests) to identify system performance issues and determine mitigation needs.
  • Diagnose and resolve AC/DC interference, ensuring proper installation and effective operation of mitigation systems.
  • Conduct internal corrosion monitoring using coupons, gas/debris sampling, and chemical treatment methods such as inhibitors, cleaners, and biocides.
  • Perform root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for corrosion related issues.
  • Prepare corrosion prevention system designs, testing station layouts, and supporting technical documentation.
  • Review project work for accuracy, compliance with standards, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Coordinate integrity related activities across departments to support safe, timely, and cost effective project completion.
  • Lead cathodic protection system installations through construction, ensuring quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to junior corrosion personnel.
