Job Summary: The Senior Corporate Counsel - Real Estate will play a critical role in providing legal guidance and support on a range of real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 6 years of experience in real estate law, with a strong background in commercial real estate transactions, leasing, dispositions, and development. This role requires a proactive and strategic thinker who can effectively manage multiple legal matters simultaneously and provide sound legal advice to real estate business partners. On Fridays, choose your work location, balancing what your work requires and what suits you best.

Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited U.S. law school
  • Member in good standing of a State Bar Association
  • 4+ years of experience practicing as an attorney; experience as in-house counsel preferred.
  • Strong real estate background with excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and resourceful with excellent follow-through skills.
  • Ability to work independently and to prioritize and manage workload, manage simultaneous tasks, and meet deadlines within a changing, face-paced environment.
  • Flexible and adaptable - unafraid of ambiguity or a challenge

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel and support on all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, and development.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of real estate-related agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, lease agreements (and amendments to existing leases), estoppels, SNDAs, and construction agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, operations, and development teams, to ensure alignment and successful execution of real estate projects.
  • Manage and coordinate with external counsel on complex real estate transactions.
  • Stay current on relevant real estate laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide proactive legal advice and risk management strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to real estate and corporate matters.
  • Provide training and guidance to team members on real estate legal issues.
