A Day in the Life In this strategic sales leadership role, the Senior Corporate Account Director (Sr. CAD) is responsible for advancing Medtronic’s most complex health system relationships from transactional vendor engagements to enterprise-level preferred supplier partnerships, while directly driving measurable product and service revenue growth and market share expansion across assigned Corporate Accounts. The Sr. CAD owns senior executive relationships across health system C-Suite leaders, Supply Chain Executives, and Service Line and Market Leaders. This role aligns Medtronic’s enterprise capabilities to customer strategic priorities and develops account strategies that fully maximize the full breadth of Medtronic’s portfolio to accelerate cross-portfolio growth, increase revenue, and expand competitive share. Serving as the enterprise quarterback, the Sr. CAD is accountable for driving Medtronic product and service revenue through enterprise agreements, multi-category innovation access, and partnership models. Success in this role requires strong cross-functional collaboration across Operating Units, Functional Partners, Service & Solutions, and field leadership to develop differentiated value propositions, lead complex negotiations, and execute enterprise strategies that deliver financial performance, customer impact, and long-term strategic partnership. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business (preferably), science, medicine or equivalent
  • Minimum of 15 years relevant sales experience for a bachelor’s degree or minimum 13 years with an advanced degree.
  • Business management experience in senior and complex roles.
  • Expert level understanding of US Federal government healthcare (Dept of VA, Dept of War) clinical and operational structure
  • Working knowledge of SDVOSB (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business) sales strategy to streamline US Fed Gov’t procurement
  • Comprehension of key FAR and DFAR clauses including implication to procurement of medical technologies
  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry in Medical Device, Healthcare or Pharma in a multinational environment with a significant matrix component
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time, as needed
  • Deep understanding of health system economics, supply chain strategy, service line priorities, and alternative site-of-care trends.
  • Ability to connect enterprise strategy to commercial opportunity and close complex, long-term value-based agreements.
  • Ability to operate confidently at the C-Suite level.
  • Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to align multiple business units around a unified strategy, balancing competing priorities to achieve enterprise growth objectives.
  • Strong experience engaging administrative, operational, and financial decision-makers.
  • Able to shift conversations beyond price toward risk reduction, operational simplification, and partnership value.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and execute enterprise value propositions tailored to customer strategic priorities, leveraging Medtronic’s full portfolio and Service & Solutions capabilities.
  • Comfort operating in complex, evolving environments.
  • Able to lead organizational change within both Medtronic and customer systems.
  • Skilled in leading large, complex negotiations and enterprise-level agreements involving multiple stakeholders and divergent objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and deepen trusted relationships at the C-Suite, executive supply chain, and service line leadership levels within assigned strategic health systems.
  • Develop and execute enterprise-level account strategies aligned to health system strategic priorities.
  • Lead executive engagement plans, including quarterly business reviews, executive briefings, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Identify and advance cross-portfolio growth opportunities across all Medtronic Operating Units.
  • Drive multi-category agreements, innovation access programs, and enterprise-wide value frameworks.
  • Accelerate progression of accounts along the value chain from Vendor → Primary Vendor → Preferred Supplier.
  • Own the enterprise account plan, ensuring alignment across Operating Units, Service & Solutions, Portfolio Leaders, and internal stakeholders.
  • Lead enterprise operating mechanisms (Blueprint reviews, opportunity governance, executive cadence).
  • Maintain accurate and actionable enterprise account plans within Salesforce and associated planning tools.
  • Serve as the enterprise quarterback, aligning OU Presidents, Sales & Marketing VPs, Field Leadership, and Corporate Accounts teams around a unified account strategy.
  • Remove internal barriers and resolve cross-portfolio conflicts to maximize enterprise value.
  • Partner closely with Portfolio Leaders to convert enterprise strategy into executable category-level opportunities.
  • Accountable for enterprise-level growth targets, portfolio expansion, and strategic KPI delivery within assigned systems.
  • Influence pricing strategy, rebate frameworks, and agreement structures at the enterprise level.
  • Support AOP planning, forecast accuracy, and opportunity pipeline governance.
  • Identify opportunities to help customers optimize cost, improve outcomes, expand patient access, and drive operational efficiencies.
  • Co-create innovative partnership models including risk-sharing, operational pilots, service-line integration, and site-of-care expansion strategies.
