The National Audubon Society (NAS) is seeking a Senior Coordinator for Museum and Collections to manage and protect its significant collection of artwork, library materials, archives, and other objects, including museum-quality assets. This role is pivotal in stewarding the John James Audubon Center (JJAC) collections and enhancing museum experiences through exhibitions and programming. The Senior Coordinator will be responsible for cataloging, appraising, and formulating a collection strategy for NAS's art collections, which are distributed across various Centers in the United States. This position will require travel up to 20% of the time to visit these art assets, ensuring that the collections are well-managed and preserved. The Senior Coordinator will report to the VP of Operations and work closely with the Director of Southeastern Pennsylvania Centers. The role is expected to allocate approximately 50% of its time to NAS's art collections and the remaining 50% to the gallery at JJAC. The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies for the preservation and conservation of art, curate exhibitions, oversee installation and deinstallation processes, and maintain relationships with artists, collectors, and galleries. Additionally, the Senior Coordinator will collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for exhibiting art and will be responsible for updating the Art Policy as needed. This full-time position is based at the John James Audubon Center in Mill Grove, PA, and offers a salary range of $65,000 to $75,000 per year.
