About The Position

As a Senior Controls Engineer, you will lead program execution for machine controls and robotics within a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or plant assembly environment. This role requires creativity, initiative, and independent judgment to deliver innovative solutions that enable high-quality production. You will manage new program launches, troubleshoot existing systems, and provide technical leadership to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience as a controls/robotics engineer.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical/control systems applied in manufacturing environments.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical concepts related to machine design and process requirements.
  • Proficiency in Siemens CNC, PLC, and HMI programming; Ethernet and/or ProfiNet/ProfiSafe networks.
  • Knowledge of servo motors, motion control, and drives.
  • Ability to design and troubleshoot electrical control systems.
  • Experience across multiple manufacturing controls and/or robotics assignments with measurable achievements.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and learn new systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a controls engineer in the automotive industry.
  • Understanding of plant floor operations.
  • General knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.

Responsibilities

  • Execute new program launches, including Statement of Requirements (SOR) preparation, forecasting, controls/robotics design, equipment build/run-off, and buyoff.
  • Oversee design, construction, integration, plant installation, and continuous improvement of equipment and tools for high-quality part production.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet program milestones.
  • Provide project updates and report-outs to senior management.
  • Support existing programs/sites with troubleshooting and technical guidance.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and plant personnel.
  • Design and troubleshoot electrical control systems.
  • Contribute to development and testing of advanced process technologies.
  • Travel as required to support program execution and plant activities.
