About The Position

Responsible for the design, specification, selection, procurement, build, programming, installation, tryout, optimization, and support of plant floor automation control systems for new and existing equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Five (5) to (8) years of related technical hands-on experience
  • High level of cooperation and commitment

Nice To Haves

  • Able to work with Microsoft Office at an intermediate level
  • Allen Bradley PLC and HMI programming software at an advanced level
  • Siemens PLC and HMI programming software at an advanced level
  • Advanced Fanuc and Motoman programming skills
  • Able to work with MQ1 and QAD databases at an advanced level.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize transfer press curves to increase HPH performance
  • Troubleshoot new and existing stamping equipment company wide
  • Coordinate and direct teams to resolve equipment issues affecting throughput on stamping presses
  • Train plant engineering and maintenance personnel in transfer optimizing methodology
  • Provide remote support to plant engineering and maintenance teams
  • Support HTH improvement activities
  • Work with the India Tech Center to evaluate transfer simulations for new die designs
  • Identify and implement cost savings ideas
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities
  • Performs work remotely, locally, regionally and at distant plants
  • Works hand on with equipment whenever required
  • Design of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic controls systems for new and retrofit equipment
  • Program PLC, HMI, network devices and related hardware when required
  • Develop and support motor drive configuration for servo, variable frequency, and DC systems.
  • Understand, implement, and support robotic programming
  • Support startup and debug of new and modified equipment to achieve plant performance objectives
  • Able to utilize engineering software and equipment: PLC, HMI, Motion Control, and CAD programs
  • Evaluate and apply new technology as required
  • Direct activities to ensure that equipment manufacturing, installation, and testing meet specifications
  • Support new model launches and improvement teams
  • Participate in cross functional team activities as required
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality in all duties
