Senior Control Systems Engineer positions administer and supervise the Automation and Process Control group for the Public Utilities Department; operate and maintain the Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Department Information Network (DIN), Facility Information Network (FIN), and the Process Information Network (PIN); review designs and standardization of the control systems within and between facilities; evaluate and oversee the design, development, implementation, and testing of systems related to area of responsibility; develop and implement system enhancements to improve reliability and performance; prepare reports and correspondence; interview, train, evaluate, and rate subordinates; and perform other duties as assigned. NOTES: Eligible benefited employees originally hired on or after July 10, 2021, will be automatically enrolled in the San Diego City Employees Retirement System (SDCERS). Senior Control Systems Engineer employees with valid State of California registration as a Professional Control Systems or Electrical Engineer are eligible for 31% additional pay.
