About The Position

In this role, your responsibilities will include developing instrumentation & controls design, conducting control system startups projects and collaborating with development teams. This role will create systems for and lead the development of capability in the areas of electrical safety, automation controls, and plant floor information systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Control Systems, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 5-7 years of experience supporting control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience programming ladder logic PLCs, safety PLCs, and HMIs (Allen-Bradley).
  • Proficiency in selecting appropriate circuit protection devices, wiring and cabling, sensors, hardware, motors and drives, and motion controllers.
  • Work experience with SCADA and DCS in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in PLC programming, including Ladder Diagram, Function Block, Structured Text, Instruction List, and Sequential Function Chart.
  • Experience in semiconductor, high-technology, and/or battery manufacturing industries.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine communications via Ethernet/IP and LANs.

Responsibilities

  • Modify, develop, test, and start up PLC, DCS, and HMI automation projects.
  • Support new equipment design reviews, conduct machine design status updates, and provide input in reference to plant specifications and sound engineering practices.
  • Produce accurate, clear, and comprehensive written documents, reports, and technical memorandums.
  • Ensure automation systems comply with applicable safety standards, including NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Perform submittal reviews from contractors and system integrators, acting as the owner's advisor for automation programming and integration efforts.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with departments such as production, IT, maintenance, and quality assurance.
  • Identify, mentor, and develop less experienced staff to strengthen the team's technical and professional capabilities.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in automation technologies.
  • Develop training materials and provide hands-on support to operators and maintenance personnel.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain advanced electrical control systems, including PLC/DCS systems.
  • Responsible for wiring, networking, and operating computer programs in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot production issues and address customer quality concerns.
  • Assist in the software programming of factory automation systems.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in calibrating and repairing complex semiconductor equipment.
  • Coordinate and assist with the implementation of engineering changes, new tools, and processes.
  • Train technicians on calibrating and repairing complex semiconductor equipment.
  • Proactively collaborate with others to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Recommend process improvements or enhancements to management.
  • Work safely by observing all safety rules, policies, and procedures.
