As a Senior Contracts Lead, you will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to Trafigura’s Power & Gas desk. You will draft, review, negotiate and administer commercial contracts, including NAESB Base Contracts (NG & NGLs), ISDA Master Agreements, purchase & sales agreements, non-disclosure agreements, transportation and storage agreements, and other energy marketing and trading agreements as needed. You will also coordinate the review and approval process of agreements among Legal, Credit and Front Office and their execution, manage the entry of the same into the Contract Management system, and participate in the configuration and deployment of trade confirmation templates within our contract lifecycle management system. Additionally, you will support the development and implementation of Contract Admin team procedures and standards to help ensure adherence with applicable requirements and industry best practices. Strict adherence and compliance with Trafigura’s policy and codes is expected.

  • Draft, review, negotiate and administer commercial contracts.

  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Natural Gas contract administration in an energy trading company.
  • Concrete understanding of Energy Trading activities, including transportation and storage contracting.
  • Solid understanding and working knowledge of purchase and sale agreements for natural gas (NAESB), financial derivatives (ISDA), NDA and related transportation, transmission & storage contracts.
  • Good understanding of EEI Base Contracts (Power), and/or WSPPs and/or environmental products (CCA, CCO, RGGI, RGGI Offsets, RECs).
  • Experience in mentoring and developing team members.
