About The Position

As a member of PHS Quality Institute and Process Excellence, the Continuous Improvement Consultant, Intermediate successfully deploys the Presbyterian Daily Management System to front-line leaders and departments. Deployment activities include training, group or one-on-one coaching with managers through staff, consulting on the Daily Management system, and improvement facilitation. The Continuous Improvement Consultant, Intermediate is a subject matter expert on all front-line aspects of the Presbyterian Daily Management System and on A3 and related improvement methodologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Five years experience in quality, quality improvement, operations, or business support functions in an environment that uses quality and/or lean daily management; or 3 years of such experience plus Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, ASME Lean Bronze, or similar certification.

Responsibilities

  • Train PHS staff and leaders in foundational and improvement aspects of the Presbyterian Daily Management System (PDMS).
  • Support the Continuous Improvement Consultant, Senior or the Manger, PDMS Design and Deployment in the development of training content to effectively teach the PDMS
  • Facilitate and coach the PDMS at the front line and with supervisors and managers.
  • Support a large PDMS deployment, such as a hospital or division, managing all aspects of the deployment in assigned departments, including project management and maintaining relationships with staff and front line leaders.
  • Use behavioral coaching with front-line leaders and staff, according to the PDMS ideal behaviors and in a way that integrates other culture change initiatives such as Just Culture.
  • Deploy and coach tiered huddles at tier 1 (front line / leader level 5) and tier 2 (manager/director / leader level 4).
  • Facilitate and coach improvement efforts of low to intermediate complexity using standardized methodology, including A3, Rapid Improvement Events, and related improvement methods to help teams solve strategically-aligned and staff-focused problems.
  • Work with teams to maintain strategic alignment of process and outcome metrics, key behavioral indicators, huddles, and improvement work via the strategy deployment process.
  • Demonstrate ability to prioritize multiple PDMS deployment departments, meet deadlines, and manage multiple customer relationships using workplans, timelines, and measures.
  • Perform and facilitate behavioral assessments on leaders and DMS deployment departments.
  • Facilitate standardization across like departments through sharing of best practices
