About The Position

The Senior Content Marketing Manager is responsible for owning and scaling our content strategy with a primary focus on driving organic search performance, SEO authority, and high-intent lead volume. This role sits at the intersection of brand storytelling, SEO-driven content architecture, and revenue-focused marketing initiatives. You will lead the development of a unified content engine that supports demand generation, sales enablement, brand reputation, and long-term SEO equity. You will work cross-functionally with Demand Generation, Marketing Operations, Sales, Product, and external partners to ensure content is strategic, measurable, and revenue-aligned. This is a highly strategic role requiring equal parts creative direction, editorial excellence, data literacy, and growth mindset.

Requirements

  • 5–7+ years in content marketing, editorial strategy, or SEO-focused marketing roles.
  • Proven track record of generating organic pipeline through SEO-led content programs.
  • Strong understanding of search intent mapping, topic clustering, schema basics, and on-page optimization.
  • Exceptional editorial judgment and ability to translate complex topics into high-converting content.
  • Experience managing creators/agencies and reviewing content with a performance lens.
  • Comfortable working in a data-informed marketing environment using tools like GA4, Search Console, SEMrush/Ahrefs, Klaviyo, or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in clean energy, home services, or high-consideration purchase industries.
  • Understanding of legal/compliance review processes in regulated or consumer-finance-adjacent industries.

Responsibilities

  • Own the SEO content roadmap with clear KPIs around organic lead volume, ranking improvements, topic authority, and conversion rates.
  • Conduct ongoing keyword research, competitive SERP analysis, and content gap audits to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Partner closely with Web/Marketing Ops to improve internal linking, conversion pathways, and search-optimized content structures.
  • Monitor and report on SEO performance weekly and quarterly, adapting content strategy based on data.
  • Develop and maintain a content framework tied to buyer journey stages, high-intent SEO topics, and sales objections.
  • Own editorial standards, voice, tone, and messaging guidelines to ensure consistency across all channels.
  • Lead the production of high-impact content formats including articles, landing pages, video scripts, sales collateral, case studies, FAQs, and knowledge base content.
  • Maintain a rolling 90-day strategic content roadmap.
  • Collaborate with Demand Gen to ensure content supports lead capture, nurturing sequences, and retargeting.
  • Build content that proactively addresses friction points that slow down the sales cycle.
  • Coordinate with Sales Enablement to translate messaging into field-ready assets (talk tracks, pitch decks, objection handling guides, etc.).
  • Develop content that positions the company as a trusted authority in clean energy/solar and related home electrification topics.
  • Identify editorial angles that build trust, improve reputation, and combat industry skepticism.
  • Oversee external writers, freelancers, agencies, and SMEs when needed to scale production without sacrificing quality.
  • Establish content performance dashboards in partnership with Marketing Ops.
  • Define success metrics for different content types (traffic, engagement, conversion, assisted revenue, ranking velocity).
  • Continuously optimize existing content based on rankings, click-through rates, and conversion performance.
