The System Notifications (SNOCAT) team at PayPal is responsible for the end-to-end production and publication of global system notifications across all markets. The Content Production Engineer plays a key role in managing the content pipeline, which includes coding, content storage, localization quality assurance, and timely deployment of email and SMS templates for PayPal and its related services. This work requires close collaboration with product engineering, integration of content design processes, metadata management, and a commitment to detail-oriented quality assurance.   • Develop automation and tools to enable product and engineering teams to rapidly create, localize, publish, and test live notifications globally and at scale. Continually improve and streamline the notifications publishing process to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Fulfill a high volume of requests with varying complexity and business criticality from almost every PayPal product team and adjacency (including Venmo, Zettle, Xoom, Fastlane) that require System Notifications
  • As the "last line" before an email is pushed to production, the PE must ensure System Notifications templates are working as expected and has the requisite localization files to be triggered in live as expected.
  • Be the first line of defense for live issues: monitor Slack help channels (primarily #help-system-notifications, #bethecustomer-paypal) to debug live issues, communicate with stakeholders, and rapidly implement bug fixes.
  • Analyze throughput blockers and strategize with Engineering to improve workflows and content storage solutions
  • Prototype and test new and existing React components used in templates by PayPal Product teams
  • Collaborate with Product and Design on notifications layouts, interactions, and design vision
  • Be a gatekeeper for PayPal's content standards, including voice and tone. Ensure Product teams are adhering to best practices and following guidelines set by Legal and Compliance.
  • 3+ years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Performs SaaS and enterprise-wide applications assignments using specialized enterprise systems knowledge and developed business expertise
  • Leads enterprise-wide applications projects and/or programs within PayPal with moderate scope impacting information technology or enterprise systems functions
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and makes decisions within general parameters under broad supervision
  • May act as an enterprise systems resource for entry level and developing colleagues
  • Familiarity with application development and dev ops
  • Experience with Jira, GitHub, JSON, Figma, GitHub CLI
  • Knowledge of React or other JavaScript frameworks
  • Able to automate processes using tools APIs
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Being at ease managing multiple projects, setting stakeholder expectations, working individually and collaborating across teams
