The projects that an Sr Consulting Scientist works on will include highly complex litigations involving multi-party, multi-media, and multi-contaminant sites that include impacts to soil, ground water, surface water, sediments, air and other natural resources. The Sr Consulting Scientist is responsible for researching and drafting expert reports, affidavits and disclosures that evaluate and critique historical records, expert and fact witness testimony and exhibits, site remediation reports, remedial design and actions, laboratory data and other analytical measurements. In this capacity, the Sr Consulting Scientist is responsible for performing statistical data analysis, environmental evaluations, fate and transport modeling, damages calculations and based on the foregoing using its education, experience and expertise in formulating and preparing expert opinions for use in depositions and at trial. These duties are performed individually or as part of a team. In a team setting, the Sr Consulting Scientist is responsible for directing these activities. The Sr Consulting Scientist is responsible for adhering to established legal rules of law, litigation goals and timeframes and will have an in-depth knowledge of applicable federal, state and local environmental statutes, regulations and guidance documents. Responsibilities may include marketing activities such as writing technical papers, giving technical presentations, proposal writing and attending technical marketing meetings with clients.
