About the position

The Senior Consultant is responsible for building and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and driving business growth. This role involves overseeing complex record-keeping projects, developing tailored solutions for clients, and providing expert consulting services on various record-keeping issues. The consultant will also educate clients on retirement plan features and ensure the accuracy of retirement plan records while staying updated on relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage complex record-keeping projects, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and address record-keeping challenges.
  • Provide expert consulting services to clients on a range of record-keeping issues.
  • Educate clients on retirement plan features, benefits, and options.
  • Oversee and ensure the accuracy and completeness of retirement plan records, including participant accounts, contributions, distributions, and loans.
  • Stay up to date on retirement plan regulations and provisions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
  • Manage and oversee projects related to retirement plan administration, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
  • Participate in industry conferences, webinars, and workshops.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of relevant recordkeeping experience, combined with employee benefits or defined contribution experience.
  • 5 years of experience with Schwab Retirement Technologies (SRT) or related retirement platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, or finance preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of the retirement plan industry and ability to read and interpret plan documents.
  • Strong understanding of defined contribution compliance, including testing and 5500 preparations.
  • In-depth knowledge of ERISA and IRS regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to provide outstanding client service and build strong relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to leverage data to solve problems effectively.
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and working with numerical data.
  • Proven ability to oversee and implement projects efficiently, on time, and according to procedures.
  • Ability to mentor and train other team members.
  • Advanced skill level in Microsoft Office products; experience utilizing a database system preferred.
