About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Consultant with deep experience in Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform to support an enterprise client through automation-led infrastructure upgrades and application environment standardization. This role involves working closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot Red Hat in-place upgrades (IPU), automate middleware client lifecycle tasks, and review/optimize existing automation scripts. This is a remote contract position requiring senior-level hands-on expertise in Ansible, Linux systems, and automation of complex platform-level tasks.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering or DevOps roles
• Deep hands-on experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform
• Strong scripting expertise in Ansible, YAML, and Bash (Python a plus)
• Experience automating middleware lifecycle tasks such as IBM MQ or Oracle client installs/removals
• Understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux upgrade mechanisms (IPU) and rollback strategies
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive resolution across distributed teams

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with MQ client versioning strategy and enterprise integration patterns
• Experience working in enterprise environments with compliance and release process constraints
• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation (or equivalent) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead the triage and resolution of Red Hat in-place upgrade (IPU) issues in coordination with infrastructure and OS support teams
• Develop and implement Ansible-based automation to detect and remove legacy MQ clients
• Deploy and configure IBM MQ 9.3 clients across target systems
• Assess and define a release/update strategy for MQ client management, including versioning cadence and change control alignment
• Review in-progress Ansible automation for Oracle client removal (Oracle 11g/12c) and validate integration of Oracle 19c client deployment logic
• Provide recommendations to improve efficiency, reliability, and maintainability of automation pipelines
• Collaborate with internal automation teams to ensure best practices and code reusability
