About The Position

The Senior Consultant in the Rail Practice will lead rail technology development and evaluation projects. The role combines technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, including managing projects and leading staff. This position requires experience in business development, proposal preparation, and client relationship management. The Senior Consultant will lead other staff and contractors specializing in software, algorithm, and technology development.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in developing technologies utilized in the rail industry.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary engineering projects and teams.
• Experience with utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) and Artificial Intelligence tools.
• Strong background in client interaction, business development, and proposal preparation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to present to clients and technical audiences.
• Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, software, industrial engineering

Nice To Haves

• Pursuit of an EIT/PE license encouraged

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage technology consulting projects within the ESi railroad practice and lead associated staff and contractors.
• Provide technology consulting services to rail clients including the implementation of automation and artificial intelligence.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables while ensuring technical quality and client satisfaction.
• Prepare and deliver technical reports, proposals, and client presentations.
• Develop new business opportunities through proposal writing, presentations, and direct client engagement.
• As-needed travel to client sites to accomplish objectives.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the growth and technical advancement of the Rail Practice.
