About The Position

As a Program Manager within our Consulting and Engineering Operations practice, you will make an impact by leading complex, cross‑functional software delivery programs that support the Cisco Networking Engineering (CNE) organization. You will orchestrate large‑scale engineering initiatives spanning global teams, product domains, and technology functions, ensuring alignment, transparency, and seamless execution across the product development lifecycle. You will be a valued member of the Global Business Operations (GBO) Engineering Operations PMO, partnering closely with engineering leaders who are shaping advanced routing, optical, network orchestration, and automation products powering some of the world’s largest networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in program management leading engineering or software development programs.
  • Strong understanding of product development lifecycle management and SDLC methodologies.
  • Expertise in software release management, deployment, integration, and lifecycle tracking with tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve complex program issues, driving end‑to‑end execution.
  • Proven experience managing multiple engineering programs simultaneously.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience communicating with senior leaders and executives.
  • Ability to make informed decisions, prioritize tasks, and manage risks based on business and technical constraints.
  • Experience working in agile, waterfall, and hybrid delivery environments.
  • Ability to thrive amid uncertainty while maintaining focus on program objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engineering programs through full lifecycle execution across agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models.
  • Collaborate with global engineering and product teams to define requirements, build delivery timelines, assess risks, and drive execution toward committed objectives.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional synchronization, ensuring alignment across Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, CX, Technical Support, Documentation, and peer PMO teams.
  • Develop clear, executive‑ready communication by synthesizing data from multiple workstreams into concise insights, status updates, and leadership briefings.
  • Manage technical trade‑off discussions, partnering with engineering leads to drive decisions that balance scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Innovate and mature PMO processes by identifying opportunities for efficiency, standardization, delivery rigor, and continuous improvement.
  • Support other Program Managers by providing expertise in end‑to‑end engineering planning, development, and release governance.
  • Track and manage KPIs, milestones, dependencies, action items, risks, and mitigation strategies across multiple program workstreams.
  • Maintain strong oversight of cross‑functional dependencies to ensure program delivery on time, within budget, and at expected quality standards.
  • Apply strong understanding of software quality measurements, defect classification, testing standards, and industry‑standard engineering metrics.
