About The Position

As a Senior Consultant, Product Architect on the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Practices Team, you’ll be at the forefront of shaping how architecture is practiced across the enterprise. You’ll lead the rollout of cutting-edge EA tooling, define and evolve modeling standards, and build the Architecture Thinking Curriculum that empowers architects to drive strategic outcomes. Your work will directly influence how product portfolios are managed, how decisions are made, and how architectural capabilities grow across the organization. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and translating complex architecture frameworks into actionable, enterprise-wide solutions.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in enterprise or solution architecture, with a strong grasp of architecture modeling techniques, frameworks, and real-world application.
  • Hands-on expertise with EA tools such as Ardoq, Bizzdesign, or Avolution ABACUS, and familiarity with architecture frameworks like TOGAF, SAFe, or similar.
  • Proven ability to define and implement modeling standards, templates, and governance practices that drive consistency and strategic alignment.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams and leadership levels.
  • A passion for mentoring and capability building, with experience designing or delivering structured learning programs or communities of practice.
  • A growth mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and evolving architectural practices in a dynamic enterprise environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with cloud technologies is preferred.
  • Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Enterprise Architecture Tooling Strategy
  • Champion the enterprise-wide adoption of EA tools, leading their evaluation, configuration, and rollout to enhance architecture modeling and portfolio visibility.
  • Forge strong partnerships with architects and product teams to embed tooling into day-to-day workflows to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture direction and standards.
  • Shape and Evolve Architecture Models
  • Lead the development and evolution of Nationwide’s business and technology capability models, ensuring they reflect current and future enterprise needs.
  • Define modeling standards and templates that are not only consistent but practical - enabling teams to apply architecture guidance with confidence and clarity.
  • Enable Strategic Portfolio Management
  • Ensure architecture models are not just informative but actionable, enabling architects to effectively manage their product portfolios and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with governance and decision-making bodies to embed modeling into architecture reviews and enterprise-level decisions.
  • Build Architectural Capability Across the Organization
  • Design and deliver a transformative Architecture Thinking Curriculum, equipping architects with the mindset and skills needed to lead in a dynamic enterprise environment.
  • Facilitate mentoring, workshops, and knowledge-sharing forums that build confidence, foster collaboration, and grow architectural talent across the enterprise.
