About The Position

As a Senior Consultant in Power Grids, you will lead and support various projects in the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) environment. Your responsibilities will include conducting market research and studies, grid planning, and power flow simulations. You will work on behind-the-meter (BTM) concepts, distributed energy resource (DER) interconnection, technology assessments, and strategies for smart grid transitions. Additionally, you will focus on optimization and efficiency improvements while analyzing norms, standards, codes, and regulations. You will also solve new challenges from both technical and cost perspectives, support business development for new clients and projects, and interact with the international energy and utility team at P3. Your role will involve close collaboration with other teams in North America and enhancing P3's energy and utility offerings, working directly with clients both onsite and remotely, and managing projects effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in electrical engineering or comparable degree
  • 3+ years experience in the energy & utility industry
  • Outstanding technical knowledge of the electric power system in North America (distribution + transmission)
  • Familiarity with smart grid technology trends
  • Familiarity with the interconnection process of DERs and grid planning & operation principles
  • Ability to model electrical components and systems in a simulation environment (e.g. PSSE, MATLAB, CYME, DigSilent Power Factory)
  • Familiarity with grid codes, regulations and standards
  • Understanding of energy markets and their principles
  • Project management mindset
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Self-motivated and driven with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Willingness to travel
  • Legally authorized to work in the US
