Remote work arrangements will be considered for candidates located outside the Columbus area. #LI-MS2 #LI-REMOTE Job Description Summary Are you agile across all stages of product development - initiation, solution design, launch, and ongoing maintenance of products? Can you balance strategy, design, profitability and growth? If so, then we want to know more about you! As a Senior Consultant, Innovation Product Manager, you'll work to ensure customer needs are translated successfully into new products and customer experiences across the value chain. We'll count on you to align to business strategy, identify customer needs and be a key contributor to establishing the vision and defining the roadmap for innovation solutions that solve customer needs and deliver business value. You’ll be working with a cross-functional team to lead opportunity assessments that balance desirability, feasibility and viability. You will independently lead research and concept design and ultimately shepherd the opportunity through build and incubate. We’ll count on you to make recommendations about feature set, scope, go-to-market plans, pricing and design features. Throughout the entire innovation process, you will lead the coordination across the enterprise, including technology and design resources as well as Legal, Compliance and Marketing.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate studies in business administration, digital marketing, human-computer interaction, product management and design, data science, statistics, user experience or related subject area
  • Typically, 10 or more years of customer-facing consumer or business product development and product management experience, including defining, launching and optimizing products and services.
  • Professional and management experience in digital sales, website and mobile application development and/or research.
  • Proven general knowledge of product development and lifecycle management processes, the ability to think strategically and execute methodically, and deep customer empathy and curiosity that’s paired with knowledge in how to gather and synthesize consumer needs.
  • Deep understanding of agile planning and delivery methodologies in a digital product management environment.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions.
  • Demonstrated ability to steer enterprise-wide change such as change in business model, restructuring operations, new technologies, mergers, major collaborations, etc.
  • Strong project and process management skills.
  • Able to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Capable of negotiating and interacting with senior leadership, internal and external partners.
  • Strategic problem solver with the ability to identify innovative and creative ways to bring digital experiences to life and solve key business problems.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates and collaborates across the organization with cross-functional teams such as Technology, Marketing, Sales, Public Relations, Enterprise Risk, data and analytics organizations, technologists, business and finance leads to ensure the best outcome.
  • Translates business, consumer and end-user needs into products, services, and experiences that solve needs and deliver value.
  • Leverages desirability, viability, feasibility and build/buy/partner frameworks in the development of solutions.
  • Working with key business partners, identifies digital product vision and feature roadmap, accordingly.
  • Manages solution discovery process, including development and execution of the learning plan through primary and secondary research, rapid prototyping, MVP development and in in-market experimentation and iteration.
  • Ensures learning plan is aligned with intended business outcomes, has set KPIs and leading/lagging indicators and that actual results are measured and compared to plan to facilitate pivots and decision-making.
  • Partners with User Experience (UX) to align on customer usability of solution, User Interface design, and user research efforts to gain customer validation and make adjustments to solutions based on results.
  • Prioritizes and leads solution development by directing the agile development team in alignment with the developed roadmap.
  • Partners with UX and Nationwide Technology to establish and deliver development of products and customer experiences in alignment with the roadmap, balancing speed, cost and quality to ensure learning objectives as well as business outcomes are met.
  • Acts as a source of expertise for direction, mentoring and guidance for less experienced associates.
  • Provides dotted line leadership to more junior Product Managers, Product Analysts and agile teams.
  • Keeps a pulse on industry movement and activities to serve as an organizational expert on the product operating model and emerging technologies.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
