Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, EA required.
  • 7 to 10 years of experience with a working knowledge of Defined Benefit and Postretirement Healthcare.

Nice To Haves

  • Functional knowledge of applicable laws and regulations for single employer defined benefit plans under ERISA and PPA.
  • Functional knowledge of application of accounting standards for defined benefit plans and post-retirement healthcare plan financial reporting for corporate plan sponsors (ASC) and governmental entities (GASB).
  • Work experience with defined benefit and OPEB valuation systems as well as ability to set up new plans and/or program plan changes.
  • Well-developed project management skills.
  • Highly developed presentation skills, as well as written and oral communication skills.
  • Display a high degree of competency with Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as personal computer skills.

Responsibilities

  • Direct project management of recurring valuation and non-recurring special projects related to small pension plans and cash balance plans.
  • Manage client projects within teams to ensure delivery of quality product in a timely manner.
  • Train new staff in procedures and systems utilized.
  • Assist team leader in the ongoing management of client engagement, including preparation of service agreements, timelines, and billing.
  • Assist team leader in daily staff management as well as annual performance reviews.
  • Participate in office-wide process improvement and best practice initiatives.
  • Keep up-to-date with current legislative topics and accounting standards and application to existing client defined benefit plans.
