About The Position

We’re looking for a Senior Consultant, Engineering to join our Principal Real Estate team. In this role, you’ll provide in‑house consulting and review of construction management, building technology, and property condition and/or environmental risk assessments to support commercial real estate investments. You’ll review architectural/engineering designs, project budgets, schedules, contract documents, risk management practices, and sustainability programs, and assess the quality, condition, and physical needs of investment properties. Analyze and interpret architectural, engineering, construction, and environmental due‑diligence information. Review related documents for internal teams, external property managers, portfolio managers, and clients. Develop scopes of work for external consulting and construction providers, and negotiate fees, terms, and conditions for investment, capital expenditure, due‑diligence, risk management, and sustainability initiatives. Manage assigned projects for asset managers, mortgage loan representatives, portfolio managers, and clients. Travel to properties and markets to inspect assets, audit physical condition, and oversee project management activities as needed. Develop, supervise, and deliver training on programs and procedures that help reduce economic risks tied to engineering, construction, sustainability, and existing property conditions. Oversee construction budgets, vendor relationships (including contract and fee negotiations, product quality, and timeliness), and resource allocation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or fields applicable to construction management
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant engineering, architectural, or construction management experience
  • Must have knowledge of national, state, and local regulatory standards
  • Excellent mathematical, oral, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment in providing cost effective engineering, construction project consulting, and/or construction management services
  • Success in this position requires a strong client service orientation, the ability to make effective decisions, and proven consulting and project management skills
  • Assertive, diplomatic, and positive

Nice To Haves

  • Professional licensures in Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Civil/Environmental Engineering or other applicable field
  • Project management experience in a variety of building project types such as senior living, multi-family residential, office, retail, and industrial
