Join us as we assist mining, energy and resource companies in getting their products to communities around the globe. Stantec is seeking candidates to join our US Mining Team as a senior consultant. The candidate will be responsible for identifying, developing, selling, and delivering projects to clients for economic, financial, advisory, and business consulting projects related to the mining industry, including mineral valuations, market assessments, due diligence, risk analysis, business improvement, and economic models for technical reports. The successful candidate will be required to develop projects and clients, as well as lead and review work completed for these projects. The candidate will also identify opportunities, introduce technical Stantec teams, and sell engineering and construction management projects.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new and existing Stantec clients
  • Build Stantec's name recognition and brand with these new and existing clients ultimately leading to proposal opportunities and billable work.
  • Contribute to an innovative and collaborative work environment where creativity is valued and encouraged.
  • Contribute to proposals, contracts, project management, and client relations/management.
  • Provide economic and financial expertise to mining and infrastructure projects.
  • Lead economic and financial projects.
  • Manage tasks and help develop and mentor younger staff.
  • Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner

Requirements

  • Diverse background in energy, resources and mining projects.
  • Experience designing and analyzing projects using various economic and financial methodologies.
  • Experience developing new clients and relationships.
  • Experience with outputs of a mining, civil, and geotechnical engineering analysis the resulting financial implications of different parameters.
  • Strong technical and business writing skills, organizational skills, technical leadership abilities, oral communication skills, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently.
  • Experience in initiating and maintaining relationships and using that to build confidence with key staff from other locations and disciplines within Stantec, as well as with existing and prospective clients.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
