The AI Security Senior Consultant - Manager role requires experience in securing Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) systems, including agentic AI architectures, model security, prompt and data protections, threat modeling, and resilient AI deployments. Managers lead diverse consulting teams, overseeing multiple client engagements such as AI security assessments and secure AI architecture designs. They contribute to client delivery by executing technical tasks, producing security and architectural artifacts, and presenting findings. This role may also involve a Project Coordinator function to ensure adherence to timelines and objectives. Senior Consultant - Managers are primary leaders of security delivery teams for AI systems. They also support business development by qualifying client needs, assessing current-state AI environments, articulating future-state secure AI architectures, and presenting sales proposals. Additionally, they contribute to the continuous improvement of service offerings, influencing AI security standards, design patterns, and providing thought leadership and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years professional, relevant experience, with at least 2 years in people / project management
  • 2 – 3 professional and/or technical certifications, including industry-recognized certifications which align to AI security, cloud security, or application security (e.g., CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, or AI-specific equivalents)
  • Demonstrated experience consulting on secure architecture and/or solution design within complex enterprise environments
  • Strong software engineering skills in Python or at least one systems language (Go, Rust, C/C++), with a track record of shipping secure services
  • Deep expertise in modern isolation techniques (e.g., container security, kernel hardening, sandboxing) and cloud security on major providers (Azure, AWS, GCP)
  • Familiarity with AI/ML security challenges and mitigations (e.g., prompt injection, model inversion, adversarial robustness)
  • Experience in performing and advising on application security
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (must be highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Comfortable addressing groups of people in virtual or in-person settings
  • Ability to solve complex, abstract problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, good listener, ability to connect with different personalities

Nice To Haves

  • Undergraduate technical degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT Management, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience consulting on secure architecture and/or solution design within complex enterprise environments, preferably including AI/ML systems

Responsibilities

  • Lead AI security assessments of clients including requesting and analyzing evidence of AI program maturity, model governance, data handling practices, deployment configurations, runtime environments, and access controls for AI systems
  • Write consistent, detailed observations and practical recommendations based on risk to AI programs, including threats like prompt injection, data poisoning, model extraction, or adversarial attacks
  • Draft detailed secure architecture designs including key AI security controls (e.g., sandboxing, runtime policy enforcement, isolation techniques, secure MLOps pipelines)
  • Proactively advise clients on secure AI deployment principles including but not limited to network segmentation, least privilege access for agents/models, defense-in-depth, and isolation from production environments
  • Facilitate strategy, roadmap, design, and planning workshops for small to medium-sized engagements, anchoring discussions in AI security principles, patterns, and measurable outcomes
  • Ensure customer expectations are appropriately set and managed
  • Drive and manage objectives, requirements gathering, project tasks and milestones, project status, dependencies, and timelines to ensure successful, on-time delivery aligned to business objectives
  • Lead or contribute to solution architecture and design discussions, including the development of secure, isolated, and resilient AI architectures that support clients' innovation, safety, and responsible AI objectives
  • Consult on solution designs that employ strong security controls, constrained trust boundaries, restricted access models, and operational separation for AI workloads
  • Create and finalize project deliverables, to include peer review for collateral developed by others on a delivery team
  • Present deliverables to client executive management
  • Apply knowledge of project lifecycle management activities to effectively support delivery engagements throughout the duration of a project
  • Support business development pursuits through client discovery meetings
  • Represent service offerings during the sales cycle, including project scoping, proposal development, and presenting proposals to clients
  • Provide consultative input during sales cycles related to secure AI architecture, risk mitigation strategies, and solution feasibility
  • Apply knowledge of sales management lifecycle to effectively support sales opportunities throughout the duration of a proposal
  • Assist Principal Consultants and Sales Specialists with engagement scoping and the creation of proposal collateral
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in AI-related security solutions/technologies and have flexibility to aid in general security advising (governance, risk, compliance, and application security)
  • Participate in the development, enhancement, and standardization of in-practice service offerings, primarily services related to AI security, application security, and governance
  • Maintain a broad knowledge and understanding of current and future state AI trends, technologies, and standards
  • Lend support and mentorship to junior consultants and peers
  • Lead multiple projects
  • Be responsible for annual reviews, ongoing mentoring, and guidance for direct reports
