About The Position

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Construction Project Manager for our New York, New York office. Be involved in projects with our PMCM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. Senior Construction Manager to lead the Project Management Consultants CM team in overseeing major rail transportation infrastructure projects being delivered under design-build delivery model. Performs all aspects of construction management oversight to confirm that the design-builder is in full compliance with the safety, quality, cost, and schedule commitments of the contract. Prepares technical reports, reviews design for constructability and future operations/ maintenance concerns, monitors permit for compliance, attends and participates in stakeholder coordination meetings, attends meetings with the design-builder team, contributes to the PMC quality assurance oversight plan, enforces compliance by the design-builder with its QA/QC Plan, safety plan and contract schedule.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant transportation infrastructure construction projects in a senior role.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or related field or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer or registered architect preferred.
  • OSHA 30-hour training certificate.

Responsibilities

  • Leading construction management and inspection team, including training, reviewing performance, and managing the staff.
  • Enforcing safety compliance by all team members, including proper PPE and equipment to perform their duties.
  • Communicates contractor's schedule and verifies they are on-site to perform their duties when needed.
  • Performs and directs site observations, inspections, and materials testing, provides objective evidence that the completed work meets contract requirements.
  • Confirm field inspections and testing are performed at the correct frequency.
  • Assess compliance of the field inspections.
  • Document, provide solutions, and obtain approval of non-compliant work.
  • Solve project issues regarding quality, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings and monthly inspector meetings.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly reports. Reviews and approves daily inspector and RE reports.
  • Timesheet approval.
  • Monthly staff QA audits.
  • Monthly contractor invoice approvals.
  • Monthly org chart update and staffing plan updates.
  • Reports to the Program Director.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
