Requirements

  • Must have 5-7 years' direct hospitality or commercial construction and project management experience working for a developer or general contractor.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture or similar field preferred.
  • Experience with all software associated with construction management.
  • Extensive knowledge of hospitality or commercial construction practices, processes, design, finance, and management.
  • Experience managing multiple construction projects.
  • Able to communicate complex concepts, business unit/corporate vision and strategy to colleagues and clients; performs active listening.
  • Proficient personal computer skills including current administrative, financial, and scheduling software or similar products.

Responsibilities

  • Review the project in-depth to schedule deliverables and estimate costs.
  • Oversee budgets, including tracking metrics.
  • Coordinate construction at facilities, including arrival of equipment and personnel needed.
  • Monitor progress, issue progress payments, and make inspections as necessary to ensure conformity to plans and specifications.
  • Advise contractors and company personnel of inspection results.
  • Discuss and resolve problems regarding deviations from plans.
  • Maintain schedule and budget of job by initiating and attending meetings with contractors, engineers, architects, and clients.
  • Identify and promptly notify management of issues impacting project schedule and/or budget.
  • Manage and conduct 'value engineering' at required milestones in order to maintain project budget.
  • Process and track change order requests and approvals, transmittals, and submittals.
  • Organize and coordinate field personnel with the job superintendent regarding subcontractors and vendors.
  • Assist in hiring and managing sub-contractors.
