AECOM is actively seeking a Senior Construction Manager in our New York office. This position will be part of an exciting team managing current and future Construction Management Projects employing the latest technologies to deliver critical water supply, treatment, and infrastructure projects such as water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems This is an opportunity to work on some of our nation’s most pressing water infrastructure problems and contributing to AECOM’s success as an industry leader in engineering and construction. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Multi-contract management, Construction Management and Project Management responsibilities (To include staffing, budget, deliverables, project status reports) Fiscal Experience – Proven project management skills to delivery projects at or under budget and on schedule. Working knowledge of job accounting and reporting methods such as earned value and estimates to complete. Will be required on occasions to provide technical input into Construction Management requests for Proposals (RFP’s) Managing multiple, complex, interconnected construction schedules in a congested and active water and wastewater treatment plants. Approves correspondence related to construction and identifies key issues regarding disputed work, delays, additional and supplemental work, and non-conforming work Ensures that safety monitoring activities within the Projects(s) scope of work are being accomplished. Monitor safety activities per AECOM scope of work Reviewing project progress and schedule requiring strong construction coordination skills QA/QC program compliance Final review and authorization of contractor payments including confirmation of Prevailing Wage interviews with trades per SOP Good disputes avoidance skills and ability to align interests and keep different parties working together. Will be responsible for review and resolution and/or approval of Inspector and Contractor reporting, forms, testing, compliance and coordination issues. Participates in the negotiation of all Change Orders Reviewing the contractor’s CPM schedule with assistance from the Scheduler, to assure that the schedule conforms to the CPM format required by the contract documents Notification to the contractor of any work that does not conform to the requirements of the contract documents. This shall be accomplished by issuing the formal Notice of Non-Conformance Confirming that the contractor is submitting all submittals for review in a timely fashion so as not to inhibit the progress of the work Establishing and maintaining the project files Review of Client draft letters and Reports Assist Resident Engineering and inspection staff in expediting technical solutions to field problems. Establish, update and write project procedures and Project Work Plan Verifying that all field testing, start-up, and operation and maintenance training activities are conducted in accordance with the contract documents
