About The Position

Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to work alongside our key client's large scale, ground-up data center construction projects. The role will be responsible for all aspects of project delivery, from inception through to commissioning. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years construction field experience and the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years' project management experience.
  • Degree in Construction management or Equivalent and OSHA certified.
  • Proficient - expert experience level using Microsoft tools (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to lead, coordinate & organize multiple stakeholders including general contractor.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The tenacity and drive to inject value and create solutions.
  • Ability to work on site.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the general contractor and architect/engineer services provider for all construction related activities on the project.
  • Conduct site layout/design including roads, infrastructure, site utilities, etc.
  • Perform constructability reviews of designs, identifying risk to project cost and schedule, preparing reports.
  • Lead Turner & Townsend site project team under the direction of the client.
  • Work well within a team and liaise with external vendors, architects, engineers, suppliers, & General Contractor.
  • Support development of Minimum Functionality Case and enhancement identification.
  • Contribute to Value Engineering efforts.
  • Assist in identifying long-lead items procurement items.
  • Assist with preparation of request for proposal for general contractor and commissioning agent procurements.
  • Establish success criteria for the project construction, including schedule, cost, technical and quality performance parameters.
  • Review design and construction drawings against project requirements for constructability issues.
  • Participate in risk identification and mitigation planning for cost and schedule risks.
  • Develop baseline schedule and provide regular progress updates.
  • Participate in Criticality Assessment workshops.
  • Interface with local authorities regarding site development issues.
  • Review Product Data Submittals in coordination with technical reviewers.
  • Coordinate with Commissioning Agent during development and execution of Commissioning Plan.
  • Review project submittals and RFI.
  • Provide oversight of general contractor during construction phase activities.
  • Attend daily construction status meetings and Owner, Architect, Contractor meetings.
  • Review and report on the overall construction effort and progress.
  • Evaluate project schedule with relation to actual field production.
  • Coordinate with Cost and Scheduling representatives for project reporting.
  • Coordinate with Document Controller to ensure project documentation is loaded into client system.
  • Support observation and issue tracking/resolution and punch-list coordination.
  • Support In-Process and Final Inspection and Test activity conducted by GC and Commissioning Agent.
