Certerra is a consulting firm with over 65 years of quality service that offers professional services in the southwestern United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing, and welding inspection. Certerra has an excellent opportunity in our Bridge City office for a full-time senior level construction materials laboratory/field testing technician/supervisor. This position requires a minimum of three to five years of construction materials laboratory testing experience. We are a company that does not provide jobs, we provide careers! Experience should include laboratory and field testing of concrete, soil, asphalt concrete, other construction materials, and mix design processes in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and State procedures. Knowledge of concrete and asphalt laboratory testing procedures preferred. Current laboratory certifications and ability to achieve additional concrete and soil laboratory certifications is a bonus (But not required) Other responsibilities will include assisting with maintaining AMRL / CCRL / TxDOT accreditations, preparing daily reports, documenting test results, and assisting project managers and engineers with assignments.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimal 3 years related experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliability – must be able to arrive at designated project sites prior to scheduled times
  • Ability to prepare reports and documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours
  • Must pass physical, background check and must have satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of concrete and asphalt laboratory testing procedures preferred.
  • Current laboratory certifications and ability to achieve additional concrete and soil laboratory certifications is a bonus
