Senior Construction Inspector
About The Position
RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring Construction Inspectors for our Keyser, WV office. Work located in and around District 5 (Keyser, Berkeley, Grant, Hampshire, Jefferson, Mineral, Morgan). Essential Function Provide construction management support, including inspection and monitoring of construction structures to ensure compliance with safety regulations Fully engage in solving complex problems to provide technical evaluation and sound solutions Monitor the activities of other Inspectors Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects Recordkeeping and reporting as required RK&K hires those with contracting, military, surveying, and related experience; we will provide further training. Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Zero (0) to Four (4) years of relevant experience in materials, standards, and specifications related to state highway projects and facilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Capable of working independently on small construction projects
- Acceptable driving record
Nice To Haves
- Inspection experience including roadway, asphalt, concrete, pavement markings, structure and bridge construction methods
- WVDOT and/or WVDOH (West Virginia Department of Highways) Material Certifications are a plus (Asphalt, Concrete, Pavement Marking, Soils, Intermediate Traffic Control Certified, etc.)
- TRET (West Virginia Transportation Engineering Technician) certification
Responsibilities
