About The Position

Arcadis is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our team to work on the largest transportation project in Virginia’s history, located in Virginia Beach. In this role, you will leverage your highway construction experience to ensure construction quality, regulatory compliance, and adherence to project specifications. You will act as a liaison between contractors, engineers, and stakeholders while maintaining safety, cost control, and schedule integrity.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway and highway construction inspection, including daily reporting and subcontractor oversight.
• VDOT certifications are required, such as those related to asphalt, paving, concrete, and other relevant areas.

Nice To Haves

• Electrical, Mechanical, and/or ITS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and ensure the quality of work on a major roadway construction project, verifying that the completed work aligns with the project plans and specifications.
• Coordinate with the contractor and various public utility agencies to ensure the smooth progress of the project.
• Assist in the negotiation and preparation of contract change orders, contract estimates, progress pay estimates, and other project-related documents and reports.
• Coordinate the sampling and testing of construction materials to monitor compliance with contract specifications.
• Monitor and track contractor progress and prepare regular reports, including daily, weekly, and monthly updates as needed.
