About The Position

Seeking a Senior Construction Engineer to support our federal government client in Aiken, SC. Application Deadline: Wednesday, 11/26/2025 at 12:00 noon EDT. Requirements: The Contractor will be responsible for the following: Provide engineering support to superintendents and crafts, verifies materials, equipment, workmanship and assures results meet design requirements. Assure construction activities are executed in a safe manner with the highest quality standards possible while monitoring the cost and schedule of any given work activity. Interface and coordinate all aspects of construction with design, procurement, security, safety, operations, health physics, quality control, scheduling, cost and management. Develop construction scope turnover packages and coordinate systems completion and test activities in support of the turnover schedule. Direct the preparation of work packages and familiarize craft in specific work package requirements. Maintain continuity with quality control to ensure work quality meets the requirements. Coordinate with design agencies to ensure timely issuance of new design or design changes. Lead constructability program in area and provide technical expertise for construction methods and practices. Responsible to ensure that construction work is done correctly and completely. Provide technical and programmatic direction to subordinate construction engineering personnel as required. Provide construction testing and start-up services for construction projects. Administer assigned subcontracts. Provide for nonconformance report and corrective action request dispositioning. Design temporary construction facilities as requested by managers. Assist in establishing maintenance requirements for all permanent plant equipment. Coordinate subcontract activities to ensure materials , equipment and workmanship comply with contract documents. Work Hours: Up to a 40-hour work week is scheduled. The client utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes client holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager. The anticipated work schedule is 4/10s, Monday - Thursday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After the award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments. Qualifications: Required General knowledge of system testing and operations is helpful to ensure the system turnover scope is adequate in regard to pre-operational testing Must be able to provide Professional References Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining a DOE "Q" security clearance Education Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 5 - 7 years of practical experience in construction engineering or related areas. OR An Associate's degree and 7 - 9 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. OR A high school diploma and 10 - 14 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent. Preferred High familiarization with ASME codes and B31.3 pressure boundary systems Strong understanding of constructability reviews and able to communicate the review process with the design authorities Strong understanding of cross functional teams and communicate issues as they arise and see them resolved Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance ("L" or "Q") within the past two years NOTE: US Citizenship is required to perform this government contract.
