Requirements

  • Registered in the State of Texas or capable of reciprocity through NCARB.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional experience dealing with municipal or state agencies is preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency and exceptional knowledge of space programming, contract documents, detailing, specifications, team production management, strong design and graphic skills, and contract administration.
  • Proficiency with computer software including AutoCAD and Microsoft Office required.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and associates.
  • Strong graphic and presentation skills, and good communication skills (verbal, written, and graphically).
  • Minimum of 7-10 years total experience in the profession with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience as a project Architect.
  • Full working knowledge and understanding of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Texas Accessibility Standards (TAS).

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multi-discipline team supporting projects in the Galleria-area Houston, Texas office.
  • Orchestrate and coordinate the work of a multi-disciplined team throughout the design development and contract document phases of projects.
  • Attend client and internal meetings, and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Assist the Project Manager in managing the project team, clients, and sub-consultants.
  • Complete design documents in close coordination with the construction department to stay within the client's and the company's budgets.
  • Produce architectural contract documents and review architectural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
  • Write/edit architectural specifications and coordinate with affected disciplines on addendum, RFIs, and change orders.
  • Participate in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFIs, solving construction issues, and performing site visits.
  • Travel for project-related activities including existing building assessments/investigations, client meetings, or construction jobsite observations.
