Requirements

Excellent traditional art and digital painting skills.
7+ years experience concepting Characters, including fantasy, and various styles.
Strong understanding of colour, composition and visual story telling.
Adept knowledge of anatomy & costume, perspective, and lightning.
Post-secondary education in Computer Graphics, Fine Arts, Game Art & Design or equivalent education and experience.
Proficiency in Art software pertaining to the roll, ie. 3dsMax, Maya, Photoshop, etc.
Solid fundamental skills in line, light, shadow, & colour.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbally and written.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
Strong aptitude to continuous learning in/outside work hours.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the creation of a style guide covering all artistic aspects of the product.
Work closely with the Art Director and Creative Director to ensure consistency, quality & focus on the visual target.
Create high quality concept art for characters, costumes & periphery assets ie. Weapons, shields, etc. and maintain a consistency of established style.
Work closely with Character Modelers to ensure good visual communication and to mitigate any issues that may arise in their creation.
Communicate with both Technical Artist & Animator, if necessary, to help resolve any issues that may occur in translation.
Provide feedback on general aspects of game design from an artistic perspective.
Work with Project manager to establish accurate estimates to ensure on-time deliverables are met.
Participate as a proactive team member to further team and project goals.
Perform other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.
